Dr Kris Naudts, Founder, Culture Trip

Dr Kris Naudts trained as a medical doctor and psychiatrist in Belgium, with periods of study in South Africa, Israel and the UK. He began his career in academic psychiatry at the prestigious Institute of Psychiatry at King’s College London and later assumed the role of medical director at a private psychiatric hospital in the capital. Kris left the medical profession to pursue his passion for entrepreneurship, culture and creativity and founded Culture Trip, a travel, entertainment and media startup. Its global goal was to connect diverse cultures with inspiring multi-media content powered by innovative technology. After several years of bootstrapping, Kris raised more than $100m in funding to propel Culture Trip into its next phase of growth. It has used this investment to significantly expand its engineering and creative workforce around the world to fuel innovation, drive further audience growth and roll out various monetisation strategies.

Kris will share some of the lessons he learned applying his hiring strategy during a period of rapid scale.

Jo Geraghty, Co-founder, Culture Consultancy

A member of The Supper Club since 2014, Jo is a globally renowned expert in building high performance cultures. Formerly head of HR for Goldman Sachs France and Switzerland, with 16 years’ experience working in change management for various investment banks across the globe, Jo co-founded Culture Consultancy in 2010 to bring her wealth of practitioner experience to change projects. Jo now works with CEOs and leadership teams of global organisations operating in large, complex and regulated environments. She is a speaker on high-performance leadership and organizational culture and a regular guest lecturer at several of the UKs leading business schools. Jo was recognised in the 2017 Smith & Williamson Power 100 index for her work to boost productivity through positive company culture.

Jo will share insights from working with founder-led businesses dealing with rapid growth and managing rapid change from a cultural perspective.

Stephen Phillips, Founder & CEO, Zappi

Steve founded Zappi in 2014 with the goal of changing the world of survey research and it has since become the world’s most powerful automated consumer insights platform. After using his personal savings and partnering with a small tech firm to create Zappi, Steve has since scaled the business to almost £20m in 2017 and now has over 160 employees. Zappi has successfully raised £14m in equity investment in three rounds to support an ambitious global expansion into over 20 new markets and exports make up 65% of its sales. Steve attributes much of his growth to a new approach to decision-making, which was inspired by a fellow member of The Supper Club who recommended the book Re-inventing Organisations by Frederic Laloux.

Steve will share insights on how he has built a self-managing organisation and removed obstacles to growth by making people more accountable.

Charlie Walker, Founder, Harmonic Finance

Charlie Walker set up his first recruitment business at 24, scaling it to £30 million in sales in 7 years across 48 countries and making fifth place on The Sunday Times International Track. Since exiting the business he has founded the rapidly-scaling Harmonic Finance. Based from Camden Market and Barcelona, it specializes in supplying Finance & Accounting hires into entrepreneur-led businesses. A member of The Supper Club since 2012, Charlie is passionate about combining profitability with an ethical, values-based approach to leadership and organisational culture.

Charlie will share insights into how he is using a values-based leadership and management approach at Harmonic Finance to drive a highly-effective talent acquisition and retention strategy.

Alexandra Galviz, Co-founder & CMO, LocalX

Alexandra Galviz was the former Head of Training and Development for a foreign exchange broker by the time she was 24 years old. Finding herself a round peg in a square hole she spent time learning what her values, passions and skills were before deciding to create her own portfolio career. She has been named LinkedIn Top Voice for the UK for the last two years, making her in the top most influential content creators on LinkedIn. She has consulted with clients including Shell and Deloitte on graduate development and coached leading CEOs on building their profile on LinkedIn. She is also the co-founder of a global movement called #LinkedInLocal - a hashtag campaign that started on LinkedIn with the intention of encouraging people to get offline and meet the people behind the profile for informal networking. It has since grown to 80 countries, in over 600 cities and reached over 100,000 members.

Alex will explain how founders and CEOs can build their personal and employer brand on LinkedIn to attract talent and build talent communities to support scale.
