There are so many ways to manage and invest your wealth but how do you get the best return?

Business owners scale by trusting people with expertise they don’t have, whether it’s their team or their advisers. When it comes to their personal wealth, it’s hard for entrepreneurs to give up control even when they know they aren’t experts. Most prefer to educate themselves about wealth planning and do their own research; but a greater awareness and understanding of the options available always improves decision-making.
Members who have crystallised wealth from investment or exit have valued expert advice, particularly around tax planning. While the right decision early in the process can truly maximise wealth, poor planning can prove costly later. Do you understand all of the tax reliefs available to entrepreneurs and what might nullify some of the benefits? How could incentive schemes for your top talent impact your exit? Could you be penalized by HMRC for how you invest in other businesses? How should you use advisers and how should they justify their fee?
Join fellow members to explore different ways of planning and managing wealth. We will also be joined by Nick Travis from the wealth management team at Smith & Williamson to share insights and technical advice from helping business owners at all stages of the entrepreneur lifecycle, from scale to sale and beyond.
This dinner will look to cover, but will not be limited to:
  • Tax reliefs for entrepreneurs and investors
  • Tax efficient incentive schemes and how to use them
  • How to use advisers and get most value from them
  • Wealth strategies for exit and investment
