Create a High-Performance Culture

Thursday 12 October 2017
9am - 1pm

The Office Group, 2 Stephen Street, London, W1T 1AN

Hear from Tim Foster, 9-time Rowing World Champion and 2-time Olympic medal winner speak from experience on fostering a culture for high-performance and learn how to be the best version of yourself

Join us for ‘Create a High-Performance Culture’, this session gives you the chance to learn how to be the best version of yourself and foster a culture for high-performance.

You will be coached by Tim Foster, a 9 time World Champion and 2 time Olympic medal winner.

Why should this be of interest?

Fierce competition, small margins between success and failure, goals and targets, hard work, perseverance, determination, teamwork, dealing with success and recovering from setbacks are only some of the parallels between sport and business.

Whilst exploring some of these similarities, this session will provoke questions that you should be asking yourself and your business.

Here you will be encouraged to challenge yourself against the high-performance environment that is necessary to truly win; to recognise some of the pitfalls of leadership; and to understand what makes a winning team, and how your team matches up.

Attendees will form their own high-performance criteria for their business, and will leave with a clear idea of what is required to achieve success for themselves and their teams.

What will you gain, learn, and explore?

  • Developing a winning mind-set and establishing a motivating culture
  • Transferring from an achiever to an enabler and the advantages and disadvantages of expertise
  • Tools to become a better leader
  • What constitutes a winning team and how to create that team
  • Model of team effectiveness

Who will be delivering this class?

Tim Foster represented Great Britain at 3 Olympics, as part of the national rowing team from 1987 – 2000. During his rowing career, he won a total of 9 World Championship and 2 Olympic medals – only twice in 14 years failing to medal.

Tim is renowned for his technical skills, ability to adapt to a team, producing peak performance under pressure, and enabling and facilitating others to perform at maximum efficiency.

After achieving his goal of winning a gold medal as part of the Coxless Four at the Sydney Olympics in 2000, Tim retired from international rowing.

On retiring, he transferred straight into coaching with the GB Team, where he did so for 6 years. Tim was the Head Coach of the Swiss National Rowing Team from 2007 – 2012 and coached the Swiss at World and European Championships, and two Olympic Games.

He has coached World and Olympic Champions and from this, successfully transitioned the Swiss national team into their most successful period for 20 years.

Tim is an expert on change management, teamwork, leadership, and goal setting.

He currently runs his own business, consults for business clients and international rowing teams, and works with the Saïd Business School as well as other business schools across the country.
