Summary:

We are back with Supper Club member Ben Mekie for Part 2 of Finance for Founders. Finance is often something of a blind spot for founders, who know that they need to get a better grip on it, but don’t really understand the finer details of how their accountant does what they do. Now is the time to really understand not only what you need to know and do, but also to make sure you get your business fit for purpose.

What you will learn:

• The essential elements you need to improve your business finances and operations

• How to make sure you don’t make some of the most common financial mistakes

• How to organise your finances to make your business look healthier and more financially stable

• If you are approaching a liquidity event, you will learn what you need to do to get ready for the due diligence process

Speaker:

Fellow Supper Club member Ben Mekie is not only a serial business founder, but headed the Finance team at Firstsource, which grew from 5 people to 13,000 in six years and was listed for $100m. He has developed The Acuity Method™, a unique means of assessing and finding the right financial brains who understand the needs of growing businesses. Being both a founder and a financial whiz, Ben is able to explain how your business can reshape its finances to tell the story that will appeal to potential buyers and investors.
